After almost two years without in-person events, Madrid was the city selected for the 2021 edition of Global Esports Summit, the most relevant esports industry event in Spain.

More than 800 esports professionals gather in Kinépolis facilities to attend two days of conferences and networking. Some of the topics discussed were the relation between esports and sports, partnerships and advertising, esports broadcasting, blockchain and NFTs in esports, and metaverse, among others.

QLASH had the ideal representation in the event. Diego Griñan Malla, Country Manager; Pablo Monti, Marketing, Communications and PR Manager; and Guglielmo Carraro, Community and Network Manager, were present in Madrid and participated in different discussions and meetings with other actors.

Diego Griñan Malla stated that “being back to in-person events is very important for everyone. It’s always great to meet with so many important actors and colleagues to discuss our industry and share our thoughts regarding where we see it going and where we want it to go”.

About the event, Pablo Monti added that “after such a long time, it was totally necessary to gather again with so many colleagues and friends, and even to personally meet so many people we initially met in the virtual world. Industries need events, and GES 21 was perfect for everyone at the esports industry to continue working hard to make our business organically grow”.

As a part of the Spanish Club Association (ACE), QLASH assisted together with the most relevant esports clubs in Spain. Also, tournament organizers, agencies and brands participated in an event that marked the return of the in-person activity, which was needed for an industry that kept growing during the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown.
